Is this going to tarnish, fade, or turn skin green?
No. This crimped oval link chain necklace is 18K Gold PVD coated over a 316L surgical-grade stainless steel base, not brass or plated alloy. WJW's published specs put the PVD coating at 8 to 10 microns, surpassing 1,200 hours of neutral salt-spray testing, so the finish resists tarnishing, fading, and flaking. It is hypoallergenic and safe through showers, pools, and everyday wear without turning skin green.

We were happy with the quality of the Gold filled chain, but there is no obvious difference between the Gold filled and the standard gold plated PVD that we’ve purchased previously. I was hoping it might be a lighter, brighter, shade of gold than the standard, but next to each other, I can’t tell the difference. Still gave it full stars because it is durable, and decent quality.
